Freeze-up progresses — Friday, December 17, 1:00 p.m. Freeze-up (white) now covers most of the Northeast Arm and all of the Southwest Arm of Lake Temagami. Ice has covered much of the South Arm. The black areas of Lake Temagami remain open. Lake Nipissing is frozen, as is most of Obabika Lake. Lakes Wanapitei and Timiskaming are mostly open. Of the remote lakes Smoothwater is clearly the exception, remaining mostly open.
