Freeze-up begins

The shallow lakes have begun to freeze, as indicated by most of the white patches (the upper right is snow-covered farmland).

Ice-free

1. Lake Temagami

4  Smoothwater Lake

5  Lake Wanapitei

Ice-covered

2. Willow Island Lake

3. Makobe Lake

Partly covered

6. Lake Nipissing

7. Lake Timiskaming

Number 8 is a massive clearcut, north of Lady Evelyn Lake, and parallel to the lake's upper basin.

Not a crisp photo, but the only one in weeks that has peaked through cloud-covered skies.
