Small lakes open

The first good satellite image in a week reveals the small lakes at the same latitude as Lake Temagami are open.

Daytime temperatures over the past seven days ranged from 10 to 25 C, and did not drop below freezing overnight.

Wind is a factor in the final break-up, but it was calm.

The Northwest Arm of Lake Temagami is partially open. The upper basin of Lady Evelyn Lake is open. Large openings have appeared on Timiskaming, Rabbit, Wanapitei and Nipissing lakes.
