Lake Temagami appears mostly ice free. There remains ice in Granny Bay, Whifefish Bay and Sharp Rock Inlet. It is likely breakup will be May 9.

It is rare that Lake Temagami is not the last lake. Lady Evelyn's lower basin, Florence, Makobe, Smoothwater and Trethewey lakes still have ice.
