AUGUST 31, 2011 Gallery of Temagami elders Gerry Gooderham has put online his portraits of elders and seniors, an effort to preserve some of Temagami. "I felt that a visual record of the people of Temagami was missing," he wrote on the page, "photographs of elders and seniors. These are the people who live and remember Temagami in its heyday, the very roots of the village and lake community. These are the folks who remember how their grandfathers and grandmothers literally lived off the land and how it was so different 'back then'”. Gooderham is a long-time resident of the Lake Temagami and a gifted photographer. The images can be found on his Facebook page and may require registering.

AUGUST 31, 2011 — These canoes sit on a campsite on the south shore of Divide Lake, in Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Wilderness Park. They appear to have been cached when the tree came down. The owner is not known. Michael Bloomfield was paddling past and took these photos.
