Chief Potts at the aftermath of the HBC store fire Chief Gary Potts standing alone, looking over the smoldering ruins of the former Hudson's Bay Company store, May 16, 1990. The fire, which destroyed the historic building on Bear Island, was blamed on a wiring short in the upstairs apartment. No one was injured. In 1990, the Temagami First Nation owned the building and operated a store out of it. |
