Mother and calf moose

Jaeger was on Beauty Lake one evening in July. "I looked up to find this cow and calf standing on the shoreline. I could tell they wanted to cross and immediately stopped paddling. After watching me for a few seconds and determining I wasn't a threat, she made a gesture to her calf and they swam twenty to thirty feet in front of my kayak to the opposite shoreline. They then disappeared into the woods."
