These photos, along with Steve Battis observations from Narrows Island, confirm freeze-up on January 1. Persistent cloud cover cut off the satellite view, but Ron Miller continued flying. Have a look back.

This Hub area (above) is a conventional final freeze-up site. The view looks west. Wabikon's dining hall is in the far-right mid-ground. Cattle Island is on the far-right background and Narrows Island the far-left background.

Looking north (below) up the North Arm with Devil's Mountain and Keewaydin at the narrows. Stinking Islands are in the foreground.
