The last open water on Lake Temagami, seen December 16, is closed. Lake Temagami is our benchmark so freeze-up is called on December 17.

The other open waters are typical holdouts: Wanapitei, lower Timiskaming and Ottawa River.

Compare to December 18 last year.

Have a look back to previous freeze-up dates.
