Big progress in the last three days with the closing of all but the usual holdouts, the deepest lakes: Wanapitei, Timiskaming, Kipawa and Temagami.

An interesting local cloud effect is marked by the arrows. It's caused by evaporation from open water.

The summer's big fire, east of Makobe Lake and due north of Lady Evelyn Lake, stands out with a slightly blue shade.

       KEY

Black open water or thin, clear ice
Dull/ dark blue thin ice with little or no snow cover
Bright turquoise thick ice, snow-covered ice or snow on unforested land  (e.g. clearcuts, farmland)
