DECEMBER 25, 2018 Freeze-up Watch: December 23! Freeze-up is called: December 23. It has been close since December 10, but this satellite image confirms our benchmark, Lake Temagami, is closed. Remember, we take a whole-lake view, not just the sled route to the landing. The entirety of Lake Temagami must be frozen for our call.
