Bear Island (below) by Bob Farr: calm and –22C! As Bob reports: "Brrrrrrr." Looking southwest towards Cattle Island at 7:45 am, but Bob notes there is open water in the background off the right of the photo near the bluffs. This is a typical late freeze-up spot. High Rock Island (bottom) by Penny St.
Germain: the water between Camp Wabikon and High Rock froze overnight
between December 16 and 17. The photo is looking at High Rock at 9:00 am,
