Farr emailed from Bear Island: After a good start to freeze up last week, with minus
18C temps, we were back into quite a warm spell. Today, here on the lake it was 10C with winds gusting from the southwest at 60 to 80 kilometers, which took out most of the ice except in deep bays. The channel (left) off my south dock has large chunks
of ice that drifted out into the main channel. Rough water with white
caps (below) out in the main channel towards Temagami Lodge near the
Mine Landing. |
