This photo overlooks an annual holdout area of Lake Temagami between Sand Point and Chimo Island. This morning, as shown in this photo from Island 988, it was largely frozen. Stevens reports that there were two small open areas visible with binoculars. One to the north at Alexander Island and the other to the south at Wingfoot Island. No indication what is happening north of Rabbitnose Island, the other important holdout area. It is possible, given the low wind, that the lake will freeze-over tonight. |
