Break-up 2007 (true colour) - April 22 |

Break-up among small lakes What a difference two days can make. The small lakes near Lake Temagami and to the south have mostly opened after temperatures hit the 20s today and yesterday. The yellow line on the photo marks the northernmost advance of their break-up. Lake Temagami — the northern section is cloud covered — is still ice covered (seen as grey and white in the photo), but a southwest wind today shifted the ice about 30 feet, a precursor to break-up. See photos from Glen Toogood on Garden Island.
