Freeze-up slowed

Small progress from the December 10 photo is marked by a slight decrease in the size of the open areas.

 

 

False colour, like infrared, enhances the view of ice and snow.

       KEY

  
Black open water or thin, clear ice
Dull/ dark blue thin ice
Bright turquoise thick ice, or snow on unforested land  (e.g. clearcuts, farmland)
