Freeze-up holdouts

The usual tardy freezers are tardy.

Lakes Temagami, Timiskaming, and Wanapitei are always the last to go.

There are still open sections on Rabbit (not visible), Smoothwater and Gull lakes.

On Lake Temagami, Ferguson Bay, Devil's Bay, North Arm around Rabbitnose, the Hub, Northwest Arm, and the Northeast Arm near Broom Island are open.

False colour, like infrared, enhances the view of ice and snow.

       KEY

Black open water or thin, clear ice
Dull/ dark blue thin ice
Bright turquoise thick ice, or snow on unforested land  (e.g. clearcuts, farmland)
