Freeze-up 2007 (false colour) - December 8 |
|
Posted Sunday, Dec 9, 2007 Photo: NASA/NOAA |
Freeze-up continues The most resistant to freeze-up are the deepest of all lakes, and their identities are clearly revealed in this photo. Lake Temagami's Northeast Arm is heavily iced over, as is most of the Southwest Arm and Sharp Rock Inlet. Wanapitei and Smoothwater lakes remain wide open. Lady Evelyn is virtually closed.
False colour, like infrared, enhances the view of ice and snow.
