Google satellite images zoom in on Temagami Today, Google Maps uploaded more up-to-date, higher-resolution satellite images. The Temagami photos on maps.google.com have been the best resolution available on the internet. The seamless view of Temagami bounces between strips of high to super-high resolution images. Today, Google upped the quality on the lower-end photos west of Lady Evelyn Lake, though not to super high. Lake Temagami is still covered by lower-end photos, so you can't make out anyone there sunbathing on the docks. Still an extraordinary site got better.
February opens with good ice on Lake Temagami Last month kicked off with freeze-up still in progress and ice unpredicatable and unsafe around Lake Temagami. February is back on track. The Temagami First Nation's ice road has been open since January 12 with 14 inches of ice under it, reports Steve Laronde of the public works department. Winter is winter, again.
