Photo: aboriginal children in the safety of a tikinagan about 1904

Rising generation

Fourteen aboriginal children in the safety of a tikinagan, or cradleboard. This is one of the earliest postcards of the Temagami region, but the location is not identified. On the front is handwritten "The Rising Generation." On the back someone wrote: "Montreal River area, N. Ontario, about 1904." The card is on display at the House of Memories Museum in Latchford.
