Night owl

What appears to be a short-eared owl on the Northeast Arm of Lake Temagami.

While at the cottage this summer for our two-week holiday, the kids on the island kept talking about seeing owls at dusk. We could hear a lot of strange calls, but nothing that sounded like what I thought an owl should sound like. More like kittens. On two separate occasions I managed to take some very blurry images at dusk of these owls perched in the trees behind my cabin. This is the only decent one.
