Big lakes accelerate

Obvious changes can be seen between yesterday's and today's images.

On Lake Temagami the Southwest and Northeast arms and parts of Whitefish Bay, Ferguson Bay and the South Arm are frozen. Kokoko, Anima Nipissing, Lady Evelyn, Cross and virtually all of Rabbit lakes are closed. Lake Nipissing and big sections of northern Lake Timiskaming are ice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

False colour enhances the view of ice and snow.

Black open water or thin, clear ice
Dull/ dark blue thin ice
Bright turquoise thick ice, or snow on unforested land  (e.g. clearcuts, farmland)
